Did you know that everyday in Britain enough rubbish is produced to fill Trafalgar Square? At The Smoothie Company we have decided to do our bit to help reduce this amount- it is important to us that we protect the environment and have as little negative impact as possible. We currently recycle all of our metal and cardboard waste and are excited to now use the wonderful products of London Bio Packaging! These resourceful folks produce all of our packaging from 100% biodegradable plastic and paper that has been recycled or is from sustainable forests. The bio-plastic is produced from corn products and decomposes in a miraculous 6 weeks! So all of you fellow eco warriors can come and do your bit by drinking a yummy smoothie, feeling virtuous in the knowledge that in just 6 weeks your cup with be part of the compost growing a new tree!

14/04/2006 - We are One...
The Smoothie Company is proud to be supporting the fantastic One Water campaign by selling it's bottled still water. The scheme was a moment of inspiration started in 2003 by 3 friends including Duncan Goose, brother of the actress Claire Goose. All profits from the sale of the bottled water go to a charity, Roundabout, which installs roundabout-pumps in Africa. The genius idea is that as the children play on the roundabout, they provide the energy required to pump clean and safe drinking water from the well below...brilliant! With such a worthy cause this is the only type of bottled water you should be buying. To read more about One Water visit the link below and make sure that you tell all of your friends about it too!
